The health and well-being of our patients, residents and team members is our number one priority. Despite many of the counties in which we operate beginning to re-open, per the Departments of Health, Concordia is still operating under a no visitation policy, except for patients/residents in end-of-life situations. However, those wishing to see their loved ones can schedule time with them at one of our safe visitation areas. Please call your loved one's facility for more information. For information regarding Concordia’s coronavirus precautions and cases, please click here. We have also began publishing regular video devotions from our Chaplains. Concordia Calendar Portraits: Cranberry (June)

June 25, 2013

The theme of the 2013 Concordia Lutheran Ministries calendar is "Faithful Caring Our Way of Life," and each month offers a picture of a resident/patient with one of our dedicated caregivers. We thought it would be fun to tell the stories behind the models, in a series we're calling Concordia Calendar Portraits.

Concordia of Cranberry is featured for the month of June. Enjoy!

Cranberry June Calendar Anna and Samantha at Concordia of Cranberry

With spring being a tough act to follow, God created June and a caregiver and resident who share a love of baking and a relationship that feels like family.

Anna Klemanski has lived at Concordia of Cranberry for two years, since moving here from Kennedy Township to be closer to her daughter, Marcia. Of all the positive things she could think of, she says she likes the friends she has made at Concordia best.

One friend she has gotten to know particularly well over the last year is Samantha Strauss, a Nurse Aide who was recruited to the Cranberry Personal Care facility by a friend -- and prior, wasn't sure if she would even enjoy working in this field. After her training, Samantha reports, "I couldn't see myself doing anything else."

In fact, her goal now is to become a physician's assistant and she plans to return to nursing school this Fall. For now she says she is satisfied knowing that she enriches the lives of residents like Anna.

Samantha and her five year old daughter live in Ambridge.
