Concordia’s Legacy Givers Recognized at Luncheon | Photos

Anytime a group of people who believe strongly in the same thing gather in the same room, a powerful experience can occur. Such was the case on Tuesday, June 21, when nearly 75 members of Concordia’s Legacy Society – reserved for those who intend to provide for Concordia within their estate plans – convened at Butler Country Club for an annual Appreciation Luncheon. Flanked by Concordia’s executive leadership staff and treated to a multi-course meal, Legacy Society members and their guests heard an inspiring keynote address from President & CEO Keith E. Frndak on Concordia’s future vision. The afternoon was capped with a champagne toast to the Legacy Society members, who through their philanthropic intent have elevated Concordia to the status of “Family.”

All of us at Concordia are entirely grateful for these special friends, who shared God’s blessings and enabled Concordia to preserve its legacy of providing high quality, faith-based care to residents, patients and their families.

Just how important is legacy giving to Concordia? Our very beginning was thanks to a bequest, when prior to 1881 a farmstead was gifted by Christian Oertel, providing the land Concordia at Cabot now rests on. For 135 years, estate gifts have propelled our mission, allowed Concordia to grow its service lines, and expanded our ability to provide care to those with limited financial means via the Good Samaritan Endowment Fund.

More than 125 living individuals are members of the Legacy Society at any one time, and it is important to continually grow this special set of donors. Enrollment in the Legacy Society should begin with prayer and reflection on how you would like to share God’s blessings with others through your testamentary giving.

After your family has been provided for, please consider how you might make one “Last Gift” or tithe to two special organizations: your home church, and Concordia Lutheran Ministries. The CLM Foundation office (724-352-1571, ext. 8291) can assist you in a simple, non-binding enrollment into the Legacy Society. You can also e-mail us at giving@concordialm.org to start the cnversation.

If you are not already a Legacy Society member but have planned to include Concordia in your estate, please let us know so we may properly account for your intentions, better thank you, and recognize you if you’d like.

Thanks to all our Legacy Society members – Concordia’s most grateful givers. Enjoy the photos below, and feel free to leave a comment! Learn more about charitable giving at Concordia by visiting Give.ConcordiaLM.org.
