More than 500 Participate in Memorial Butterfly Releases | Photos

Over the past two weekends, we had the privilege of holding two outstanding butterfly releases, one hosted by Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia at Villa St. Joseph in Baden, PA., Saturday, August 24, and the other hosted by Concordia Hospice of Washington at the Barn at Ike’s Place in Amity, PA., Saturday, August 31. We were blessed to have ideal weather and plenty of sunshine both days for the butterflies to make their flight! (Read more for photos)

Best in Show: 19th Annual Concordia Dog Show Entertains | PHOTOS

For the past 19 years, the Annual Concordia Dog Show has seen some of the best “good boy” – and gal canine companions around. Dogs and their owners travel to compete for a coveted title in one of four categories – Best Performer, Best Groomed, Most Obedient and Most Friendly. This year, 19 dogs came to entertain over 100 residents, staff and community members the evening of August 15 in the Lund Care Center back yard. (Read more for photos)

16th Annual Concordia Golf Classic Was a Hole-In-One

Concordia’s 16th Annual Golf Classic celebrated another record-breaking year in funds raised for Concordia’s mission of caring. A great group of golfers and guests came together at Treesdale Golf & Country Club on Monday, July 8 and had a perfect day for golfing, fellowship, food and fabulous gifts and prizes! In June of 2018, we were excited to celebrate the groundbreaking of our newest construction project – an expansion at our beautiful retirement community in Copley, OH, Concordia at Sumner. This past Saturday, we invited residents, families and the local community to celebrate the completion of the project with a Grand Opening/Community Day event!

2019 Concordia Fishing Derby for Kids Hosts Over 800

Perfect weather, plenty of fish and tons of fun were all part of the 2019 Concordia Fishing Derby for Kids. Over 800 people – the most in the event’s five-year history – visited Lake Saxony to reel in bass, bluegill, catfish and sunfish. Also breaking records this year was the largest fish caught in the history of the event, an enormous 21-inch largemouth bass! (Read more for photos)

First-Ever Young at Heart Event a Great Success

From the bottom of our hearts (get it?), we would like to thank everyone who attended the Young at Heart event at Concordia at Villa St. Joseph! Nearly 150 people came to enjoy entertainment, live music, a silent auction, basket drawings, delicious food and more.

15th Annual Concordia Dog Show a Hit with Residents, Community | Photos

Depending on which source you turn to, the formula for calculating dog years to human years can vary quite a bit. One formula says to use 10.5 dog years per human year for the first 2 years, then 4 dog years per human year for each year after…. And by that math, the Concordia Dog Show just hit the ripe age of 73!

If you didn’t do the math in your head yet, that would be 15 years. :)
