Former Patient's Family Beautifies Good Samaritan Hospice House

July 3, 2012

Each week during the month of April, we talked here on the blog about the volunteers who make a difference every day at Concordia Lutheran Ministries. Around that time, another group was doing some great, selfless work but we didn't get a chance to talk about them at the time.

For those of you who haven't been to the Good Samaritan Hospice House, it is a beautiful place that has a different feeling as soon as you pull into the parking area. It's nearly impossible to put into words, but it's almost a feeling of calm or peace a feeling of serenity.

One former patient's family experienced that feeling while spending time at the House recently, and decided they wanted to even further beautify the outdoor space. The family weeded, mulched, scaled back shrubs, planted a beautiful weeping cherry tree and more. Dragun's Landscape Supply, Inc. in Pittsburgh provided delivery of the mulch and dirt for free and gave a discount as well.

Below are some pictures of the family in action. Feel free to leave a comment at the bottom of the page. Interested in volunteering at any of Concordia's locations? Don't hesitate to call any of our facilities or e-mail us here.
