What a perfect day we had for the 132nd Annual Concordia Summer Festival on Sunday, July 28. If you missed this year's event, you missed a good one!
The Festival featured the well-known Allegheny Brass Band, Concordia's House Band, The Occasional Divas and The Butler Notables Quartet. In addition to the hundreds of grown ups (residents and their families, staff and community members), around 150 kids enjoyed the fishing derby, along with the many other games, activities and, of course free food.
Rev. Dr. Carl Krueger, President of the Slovak Evangelical Lutheran Church (SELC), Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, came all the way from Milwaukee to speak at our worship service! Rev. Krueger, who has been President of the SELC District since 1997, talked about how Concordia's mission promotes being rooted and built-up in Christ.
Special thanks to the 60+ volunteers and planning committee members who helped make the day a huge success! And, of course, thank you to all of the smiling faces we saw that day. :)
We could keep talking about what a great day was had by all, but the pictures below tell the story so much better!
