The health and well-being of our patients, residents and team members is our number one priority. Despite many of the counties in which we operate beginning to re-open, per the Departments of Health, Concordia is still operating under a no visitation policy, except for patients/residents in end-of-life situations. However, those wishing to see their loved ones can schedule time with them at one of our safe visitation areas. Please call your loved one's facility for more information. For information regarding Concordia’s coronavirus precautions and cases, please click here. We have also began publishing regular video devotions from our Chaplains. My Concordia Career: Nicole Messenger’s Story

December 6, 2018

The Concordia Team is comprised of many talented and compassionate employees who have graciously served our mission in a variety of ways – and we are excited for you to meet these fantastic individuals!

Let us introduce you to Nicole Messenger, a Licensed Practical Nurse with Concordia at Rebecca Residence. Nicole started with Rebecca Residence as a Residential Aide in 2004 and has steadily climbed the clinical ladder since!

N. Messenger 2Nicole completed Concordia’s C.N.A. Certification Program shortly after being hired and worked as a C.N.A. for three years. In 2007, Nicole became a Licensed Practical Nurse and has held that role ever since. She is currently back in nursing school to become a Registered Nurse.

Nicole describes Concordia as “rewarding” and cites Concordia’s fostering of career development as one of the many reasons she chooses to work for us.

“The benefits as a whole are great. Concordia encourages me to pursue more education so that I can meet my career goals. I’ve been able to and am continuing to achieve these goals through various benefits Concordia offers, including tuition reimbursement. It feels like Concordia is investing in me.”

Nicole’s favorite Concordia memories are those that include fellow co-workers and her residents:

“I have met some amazing people that have become lifelong friends and I have so many memories including them all; however, my favorite memory would have to be dressing up one of our residents as a doctor for Halloween!”

Nicole spends her free time with her family, who she says are her motivators to succeed, and also studying for nursing school.

“When I am not at work, I enjoy being with my kids and husband – going to children’s programs at school and taekwondo tournaments. I like to craft with my kids and also travel to new places with my family. I am also currently back in school for my RN degree and my ultimate goal is to obtain my BSN.”

We are all very proud of Nicole’s academic achievements and career development; her ambitious drive is both admirable and inspiring!
