While most of us in Concordia Land spent the first day of spring indoors watching snowflakes fall to the ground, it’s pretty exciting to know that regular sunshine and warm weather are in our very near future – especially for our senior loved ones, who may be more susceptible to bouts of wintertime depression.

There are many reasons to be happy in the spring – new life is emerging, birds are chirping, flowers are blooming – but for individuals with mobility concerns, having the ability to get out and about has to be at the top of the list. Is it really September already? This summer flew by! Summer is always a busy season for Concordia, packed with plenty of events for our residents and their families, and the communty in general. This year we had a fishing derby, concerts, our 12th annual golf outing, a dog show and a boot-stompin’ country-themed Summer Festival, just to name a few. After so much sun, fun and activity, it’s important to take a break and take a day for yourself.

Concordia Residents Offer Relationship Advice for Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine’s Day from Concordia! The world is filled with “Love Experts” who are willing, for a small fee, to give you all the relationship advice you can handle. And while we have nothing against those individuals or those who seek their counsel, we thought, who better to give some guidance than those with the most experience: our residents!

The awesome Activities Departments at our various locations asked their residents one simple question: What can you tell younger people about marriage and relationships? We’re just guessing here, but we think even the late Abigail Von Buren would have approved of their suggestions.

The official start is March 20, and before we know it, the buds will be on the trees, the flowers will be sprouting bulbs and baseball season will be in full swing.
