Concordia Expands into Ohio

Today, Concordia Lutheran Ministries acquired Sumner on Ridgewood, a continuing care retirement community located in the Akron, Ohio suburb of Copley. Now called Concordia at Sumner, the facility was built in 2003 on 64 acres and consists of 22 villas, 79 apartments, 40 assisted living beds and 48 skilled nursing beds.

Good Samaritan Hospice 5K Attracts More People Than Ever

The Good Samaritan Hospice 5K was held Saturday in North Park, and with over 260 participants, this was the largest group in the event's history! We don't have a whole lot of details yet (we will soon), but we wanted to get some of these great pictures out today. :)

2012 Concordia Oktoberfest One of the Biggest, Best in History

Apparently, word has gotten out that Concordia's Oktoberfest is a blast - just ask the crazy amount of people who showed up on Saturday, Oct. 6! In the span of four hours that day, around 1200 people (around 300 of whom were kids) walked through the front doors of Concordia's Haven I retirement apartment building in Cabot.

Concordia of the South Hills Fundraiser a Success

A change of venue and theme spelled success for Concordia of the South Hills second annual fall fundraiser, "Book Your Lunch." The 170 in attendance (including two men) had an opportunity to begin their holiday shopping, as nine vendors displayed shoes, boots, handmade jewelry, homemade pretzels, clothes and kitchen items at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Bethel Park.
