More than 500 Participate in Memorial Butterfly Releases | Photos

Over the past two weekends, we had the privilege of holding two outstanding butterfly releases, one hosted by Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia at Villa St. Joseph in Baden, PA., Saturday, August 24, and the other hosted by Concordia Hospice of Washington at the Barn at Ike’s Place in Amity, PA., Saturday, August 31. We were blessed to have ideal weather and plenty of sunshine both days for the butterflies to make their flight! (Read more for photos)

Hospice Support Services For Family Caregivers

Offering support, comfort and care to someone at the end of life’s journey requires selflessness and compassion. However, caring for the physical, emotional, spiritual and financial needs of a loved one in hospice care  may begin to feel overwhelming. To help caregivers  manage some of the difficult tasks associated with providing for a loved one, resources offered through hospice care programs and the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization  are available to alleviate caregiver stress.

Best in Show: 19th Annual Concordia Dog Show Entertains | PHOTOS

For the past 19 years, the Annual Concordia Dog Show has seen some of the best “good boy” – and gal canine companions around. Dogs and their owners travel to compete for a coveted title in one of four categories – Best Performer, Best Groomed, Most Obedient and Most Friendly. This year, 19 dogs came to entertain over 100 residents, staff and community members the evening of August 15 in the Lund Care Center back yard. (Read more for photos)
