Another Centenarian at Concordia at Cabot

Jefferson Twp., PA – Concordia at Cabot resident Helen Fieo celebrated her 100th birthday on Sept. 3.

Born in Tarentum, Helen Marie Fieo lived in Fawn Township for 50 years before she and her husband came to Concordia Haven I on April 1, 2001.

She was married to the late Joseph Michael Fieo Sr. on June 12, 1938 in Perth Amboy, NJ and they celebrated their 70th anniversary prior to his passing in 2009.

The couple had two daughters, Melody of Salisbury, MD and Crystal Rennie who resides in New Castle with husband, Scott and one son, Joseph Michael Jr. living in Dubois with wife Mary Ann.

A housewife and fulltime Mom, Helen attributes her longevity having a loving family and a healthy, rewarding lifestyle.  She loved to read novels and the daily newspaper and listen to classical music and passed the time knitting, bird watching and gardening.

She is a member of Central Presbyterian Church in Tarentum as well as  the Allegheny-Kiski Valley Historical Society.  A former member of the Eastern Star, she also served as a Girl Scout Leader and PTA Chairman.

Still fastidious in her appearance, she takes pride in looking her best.

Her family hosted a surprise Open House in the Lund Care Center First Floor Porch Lounge on Sept 3.
