Calling All “Angels:” Good Samaritan Hospice hosts training event for award-winning “Angels on Call” program

Jefferson Twp., PA – Good Samaritan Hospice (GSH) is hosting a training event for its award-winning “Angels on Call” program on Thursday, Nov. 6 at 5:30 p.m. The two-hour session will be held on the Concordia at Cabot campus in the Lund Care Center Board Room, 134 Marwood Road, Cabot.

Comprised entirely of volunteers, the “Angels on Call” provide physical, emotional and spiritual support to patients in end-of-life care. These volunteers are available at all times, day or night, and believe that patients should never be alone during this time of their lives.

This event is open to all new volunteers and can serve as a refresher course for any existing volunteers who are interested in attending. Presenters for the event will include: GSH Community Educator Roni Lucas; GSH Volunteer Coordinator Erin Middleton; and Skilled Activities Director Roberta Breninghouse, Cabot’s on-site coordinator for the event. A light meal will be served.

Reservations are not required, but preferred. To RSVP or for more information, contact Erin Middleton at 724-933-8888, ext. 230, or Roberta Breninghouse at 724-352-1571, ext. 8241.

Good Samaritan Hospice, a mission of Concordia Lutheran Ministries, provides inpatient hospice care to patients in three locations and offers in-home hospice services to people in Pittsburgh and throughout western Pa.
