Concordia Adds Deaconess to Chaplaincy Staff

Jefferson Twp., PA – Twelve Lutheran Church Missouri Synod pastors participated in the special worship service in honor of the installation of Deaconess Heather Wathall on Sunday, July 20 in Concordia at Cabot’s Haven II chapel.

Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, she completed a B.A. in theology and her certification requirement at Concordia University Chicago.  Deaconess Wathall was commissioned at Lutheran Home in Arlington Heights, IL where she served for the past five years. Beginning full-time on June 30, her primary responsibilities at several of Concordia’s locations include visiting the sick, conducting Bible studies and spiritual counsel.

Deaconess Wathall said, “As a deaconess I can be a vehicle of our Lord’s mercy through the promises in His Word and extending care of the needs at hand, all the while pointing people to the grace delivered through our Pastors in Holy Baptism and the Lord’s Supper …”

She and her husband live in Cabot with their ten-month old son, Andrew.
