The installation will be conducted by the third vice president of the Eastern District of the Lutheran Church –Missouri Synod who is also a Concordia chaplain, Rev. Dan Strussenberg.
He began his duties at Concordia in this week to support the efforts of Concordia’s Chaplaincy Services. Chaplain Cox will be located in the south region ministering to Concordia of the South Hills and home and community services in that area. Originally from Michigan, Rev. Cox graduated from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri in 1988. In 1994 he entered the US Navy Chaplain Corps and served most recently as Command Chaplain Naval Air Facility in California. He has been highly decorated with many commendation medals.
He is married to the former Hoan Thi Trinh of Vietnam and they have two teenage sons, Henry and Roland.
Rev Jack Hartman, Concordia’s Director of Chaplaincy Services will be guest preacher at the service.
The addition of Chaplain Cox brings the full-time staff to eight for coverage of the spiritual needs of the 15 Concordia locations in western PA.
