Concordia at Cabot Resident Praisner Turns 100

Jefferson Twp., PA – Concordia of Monroeville Personal Care resident Mary Mihalchik Praisner celebrated her 100th birthday on March 23, 2017.

Born in Wall, she lived in North Versailles before moving to Concordia in 2014. She married Edmund Praisner when she was 55 at St. Aloysius Church in Wilmerding on August 30, 1968. He was her first boyfriend as a teenager and they met again years later. They were married 24 years before he passed away in 1991. They were a happy couple and traveled a lot and loved playing cards.

She has four stepchildren, Mary Ann Roberts of Canada, Ellie Drey who lives in nearby Murrysville and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Roberts of Lewiston, NY; two grandchildren, Justin and Meredith and one great grandchild, Madison.

For 37 years she worked at Westinghouse Electric in East Pittsburgh on the assembly line. She remains a member of St. Jude Church in Wilmerding.

Her secret to living 100 years - “My doctor said I will live to be 100 over 20 years ago.” She enjoyed her milestone birthday with family and friends on March 23 with cake and entertainment at Monroeville Activity Center.
