Concordia Awards Scholarships to Local High School Seniors

Cabot, PA - In a small effort to assist future leaders of the health care industry, the Concordia Lutheran Ministries (CLM) Foundation has awarded two exceptional high school students with $1000 scholarships.

Butler senior Elizabeth Spingola and Freeport senior Rebecca Burkart are the first recipients in the new CLM Youth Scholarship Program. Both are honors students with hundreds of hours of volunteerism.

Spingola is considering a degree in biomedical engineering at several institutions, while Burkart plans to attend the University of Pittsburgh for physical therapy.

To be eligible for the CLM Youth Scholarship Program, applicants submitted an essay, completed at least 150 documented volunteer hours in the health service industry, maintained a minimum 3.2 GPA and have an interest in pursuing a career in a health-related field.
