Concordia Haven I Resident Turns 100

Jefferson Twp., PA – Concordia Haven I resident Walter Byron Scott celebrates his 100th birthday on November 19, 2016.

Born in Pittsburgh, he lived in Prospect before moving to Concordia in September of 2008.  He married Ottilia Haerich on May 26, 1946 in Norristown.  They had three children – Arlene Thomas of Coral Springs, FL, Holly Daum of Leeper, and Malia Hoffstot of Palm City.  He has five grandchildren and five great- grandchildren.

Walter was supervisor of the painting department at the Boca Raton Hotel in Fl as well as groundskeeper at Krendale Golf Course in Butler.

A member of St Luke Lutheran Church in Cabot and the Mariners of Pennsylvania Merchant Marines, Walter loves sports.  A devoted fan of the Pitt football team and the Pittsburgh Penguins, he enjoyed playing golf and growing heirloom tomatoes and Bodacious corn.

Walter’s advice after living 100 years is “blueberry yogurt from Marburger Dairy.”
