The health and well-being of our patients, residents and team members is our number one priority. Despite many of the counties in which we operate beginning to re-open, per the Departments of Health, Concordia is still operating under a no visitation policy, except for patients/residents in end-of-life situations. However, those wishing to see their loved ones can schedule time with them at one of our safe visitation areas. Please call your loved one's facility for more information. If you have purchased a butterfly, please continue to go to the Washington County Fairgrounds between 12:30-2 p.m. to pick up your butterflies for a take home release. Our volunteer staff will still be available to assist you. Please be prepared to release your butterflies roughly an hour after picking them up. On Saturday, August 29, Concordia Hospice of Washington will host a Memorial Butterfly Release at 1 p.m. at the Washington County Fairgrounds, 2151 North Main Street, Washington, PA 15301. This event is open to anyone who wants to honor and celebrate the memory of their loved ones. Children are welcome!

Due to circumstances surrounding COVID-19 and large events, participants will have three options to choose from to make this Butterfly Release memorable.

Option #1 - You may stay at the fairgrounds, where you will be asked to stay in or near your vehicle for the mass release.

Option #2 - Once registered you may receive your butterflies to take with you and release at home.

Option #3 - Allow one of our volunteers or staff members to release your butterflies for you.

Butterflies must be purchased in advance by completing the registration form here or ordering online. Each butterfly is $10 and order forms are due by July 10. All proceeds benefit Concordia Hospice of Washington and its mission to provide care for and offer emotional, social and spiritual support for their patients and families.
