Seven years ago, Concordia Haven Apartments aided by the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Pittsburgh, established a continuing education program and titled it Concordia Institute for Lifelong Learning.
Courses include “Cooking with Georgia” which features six monthly hour and a half sessions focused on such topics as the Language of Flowers Tea, Love My Grains and Good Morning Meals. Each session is $10. There is the local history series of three classes culminating into a field trip at the Saxonburg Museum or a presentation on Mail Fraud. If you like crafts, one of our residents will teach you how to make a wreath or a Fairy Garden. Learn how to use an iPad. Take a Wine Tasting Tour. Concordia will host the Audubon Society for 11 classes. A Seniors for Safe Driving and Health & Wellness courses in addition to the well-known Silver Sneakers program and Butler’s Butterfly Lady are also part of the course catalog.
