Concordia Lutheran Ministries Elects Six New Board Members for 2017

Jefferson Twp., PA – Stephen Johnson, chairman, Concordia Lutheran Ministries parent Board announced the election of six new board members  yesterday at the annual meeting. Eighteen board members comprise the governing body and represent 33 Lutheran Churches Missouri Synod (LCMS) in the western Pennsylvania area.

Installed by Rev. Jack Hartman, director of chaplaincy services, the newly elected members follow. Each will serve a three-year term.

Rande Casaday of McMurray
First Vice President of Investments and Branch Manager at Stifel Nicolaus, a financial services holding company, Casaday served on the Concordia parent board for four years; most recently on the Concordia Foundation and CLM of Pittsburgh subsidiary boards.  Former chairman of the Finance and Audit Committee, he is a member of Peace Lutheran Church in McMurray where he is the president of church council. He has an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh. Rande has been married for 30 years to Debbie and they have two children. His mother is a resident at Concordia of the South Hills.

Fred Heintz Jr. of Glenshaw
Retired after 37 years of practicing law with Legal Services programs representing low income persons in civil law matters, Heintz chaired the Legal Committee of the Concordia parent board. An incumbent, he is also Director of Finance at Bethel Lutheran Church where he is a lifelong member.  He is married to Donna, a former activities director at Concordia at Cabot.  

Gail Holzer of North Huntingdon
Principal and school administrator of Redeemer Lutheran School, the only LCMS PreK through High School in PA, Holzer also served the past three years on the Concordia parent board.  A member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, she is married to Robert and has three married children and eight grandchildren.

Rev. Arthur Litke of Glenshaw
Pastor of Bethel Lutheran Church since 1996, Rev. Litke is a graduate of Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne and previously served on the Concordia parent board for six years.  He is the current president of the Pittsburgh Pastoral Conference and has served in various leadership capacities within the Eastern District.  Rev. Litke has been married ot Marie since 1980 and has one adult child, David.
Donald Olmstead of Cabot
Olmstead has served on the Concordia board for nine years and currently is chairman of the Building Committee.  A partner in Venture Engineering & Construction, Inc. since 2007, he holds a masters degree in engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. He and his wife Diane are members of St Luke Lutheran Church in Cabot and have three adult children.  

Rev. Dr. Douglas Spittel of Shadyside
Senior pastor of First Trinity Lutheran Church in Shadyside since 1998, Rev. Dr. Spittel finished his first term on the Concordia Board where he was chairman of the Nominating Committee.  He graduated from Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne and earned his D.Min. in Spiritual Formation from the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary.  He is founder of the Pittsburgh Lutheran Center for the Blind, Pittsburgh Campus Ministries and the Augsburg Academy as well as chairman of the Board of Directors for Pittsburgh Pastoral Conference. He and his wife Leigh have four children.

To be presented with thank-you plaques are Bishop Jamison Hardy of Finleyville, English District, LCMS for 12 years of service and Christie Scott for six years of service.

Twenty-two churches were represented and a total of 56 delegates as well as management staff and guests were in attendance.  Keith E.
