Concordia Lutheran Ministries Elects Six New Board Members

Jefferson Twp., PA – Jim Limbaugh, chairman, Concordia Lutheran Ministries board of directors announced the election of six new board members at the annual delegate meeting on Sunday, Nov. 8. Eighteen board members comprise the governing body and represent 33 Lutheran Churches Missouri Synod in the western Pennsylvania area.

Installed by Rev. Jack Hartman, director of chaplaincy services, the newly-elected members follow. Each will serve a three-year term.

David Alsing of Irwin
Retired 12 years after 39 years with Westinghouse, Alsing has served on the Concordia Board for 25 years. Past Vice Chairman of the Board, Chairman of the Strategic Planning, Mission and Ministry and Governance Committees, he also served on the boards of Concordia at Rebecca Residence, Concordia Foundation and Good Samaritan Hospice.

Michael Fiffik of Franklin Park
A partner at Welch, Gold, Siegel & Fiffik, P.C., Fiffick was a member of the Concordia Board for six years. He also serves as a Board Member on the Thrivent Member Network Board of Directors Ohio/Western Pennsylvania Region as well as the Concordia Lutheran Ministries of Pittsburgh and the Concordia Foundation.

Peter Fisher of Castle Shannon
A graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, Fisher was a Director of Technology Development with the Ben Franklin Partnership and worked in engineering, statistical analysis and medical research. He has served on the Concordia Board for the past three years, and is currently on the Concordia Visiting Nurses, CLM of Pittsburgh as well as the Concordia Foundation Boards, Mission and Ministry, Home Care and Strategic Planning Committees.

Stephen Johnson of Oakland
The Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer of Consol Energy, Johnson has served as securities and mergers, corporate and acquisitions counsel to both public and privately-held companies throughout his professional career. He worked as a partner in the Business and Regulatory Group at Reed Smith LLP and as a Chairman of NEED, a non-profit organization that provides college scholarships to minority students.. He has served on the Concordia Board as Chairman for nine years.

Jennifer Lewis, MD of Canonsburg
Board certified in Internal Medicine, Dr. Lewis is on the medical staff at Allegheny General and Canonsburg Hospitals, has a private practice in Internal Medicine in McMurray and has served as the Medical Director at TownView Health and Rehabilitation Center in Canonsburg since 2010. She is a member of the American College of Physicians and American Medical Association.

Russell Lucas of Wexford
A resident of the Pittsburgh region since 1993, Lucas is an attorney in a private practice with Campbell, Durrant, Beatty, Palombo & Miller with a practice consisting primarily of advising public sector entities. He has served on the Concordia Board for the past three years and is currently also on the Concordia Visiting Nurses Board as well as the Legal and Home Care Committees.

Thank-you plaques were presented to Ruth Redenbaugh for 12 years of service; Randy Casaday, for five years of service; Rev. Michael Scheer, and Tom Kibel for three years of service.

Twenty-four churches were represented and 56 delegates as well as management staff and guests were in attendance. President and CEO Keith E. Frndak is excited to continue developing Concordia’s mission of affordable, high-quality care with such talented and distinguished board members.
