A cocktail reception featuring tours and hors d’oeuvres will begin at 3 p.m. with the dedication ceremony scheduled for 4 in the second floor therapy gym.
This expansion of the health center therapy area positions Concordia to serve the needs of our current residents as well as those who select us as the provider of choice in the region. Architects R.W. Larson designed a state-of-the-art therapy gym located adjacent to the skilled nursing units, fully equipped kitchen for therapy simulation. Martik Bros. began the $1 million construction mid-August.
COM is licensed for 59 skilled nursing beds and serves 20 short-term rehab patients per day according to Chief Operating Officer Brian Hortert.
He says the 2,500 sq. ft. addition will enhance efficiency and communication for therapists and nurses and provide convenience for rehab patients.
The addition provides easy accessibility to a new main entrance for our patients and enhances the appearance of the face of the structure.
Concordia Lutheran Ministries, parent company for COM, acquired the Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) August 15, 2014. In addition to the skilled nursing (health center) area, the facility consists of 87 personal care units.
