Originating at the I’m Still Here Foundation/ARTZ: Artists for Alzheimer’s in Boston, the Meet Me at the Movies program debuted at the Denis Theatre in 2014.
The program brings together residents with memory disorders and their families, staff and volunteers to view five or six short clips (4 – 6 minutes) of classic movies and television shows. Viewing is followed by concession snacks and discussion led by a trained moderator.
Funding for Meet Me at the Movies has come from the Fine Foundation, Mt. Lebanon Community Endowment, Pittsburgh Foundation/A.W. Mellon Educational & Charitable Trust and the PNC Charitable Trust/J. Samuel & Rose Y. Cox Foundation.
