Concordia of Wexford Resident Turns 102

Wexford, PA – Concordia of Wexford resident Gertrude Marshall will celebrate her 102nd birthday on Oct. 1.  

Born in Ellsworth, Gertrude Welling Marshall lived in the Penn Mar Plaza before she came to Concordia of Wexford last year.

She was married to the late Samuel Marshall in March of 1931 in Deer Creek U.P. Church and lived on the family farm in Gibsonia.  Samuel died in November of 1966.

The couple had three sons, Clark who lives in Cranberry Twp., Larry and Tom, both of Palm Bay, FL and one daughter, Arlene Robinson of Ft. Worth, TX.  She has 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Gertrude calls herself a “farmer’s wife” and attributes her longevity to reading the Bible and praying.

She is a member of Gospel Fellowship Church, Presbyterian Church of America.
