Concordia Residents Celebrates 50th Wedding Anniversary at Care Center

Cabot, PA – Nancy and Ronald Guentner will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with their family in the Skilled Nursing Dining Room at Concordia at Cabot. Three years ago, Nancy suffered a brain aneurysm and moved to the Lund Care Center at Concordia.

The two first met on a blind date and were married in Detroit, Mich. on October 30, 1965. Nancy was in nursing school and Ron was in the Coast Guard stationed there.

They relocated to Ron’s native Pittsburgh, settled in Butler and had four children: Willow Donnel, who lives in Butler with husband Sean; Matthew and wife Michele of Va.; Thomas and wife Kira who live in Pittsburgh; and Michael and wife Lindsay of Mich.; and six grandchildren.

Ron was an ordained minister. Members of Faith Fellowship Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Butler, the Guentners say there’s just one secret to being married for so long: "True love."
