Concordia’s Adult Day Services Manager Presents Information about Alzheimer’s Disease

Jefferson Twp., Pa. – Melissa Weichey, certified dementia practitioner will provide education about Alzheimer’s Disease on Wednesday, May 17 at Harvest Community Church, 143 Reed Road in Kittanning. The presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m. and is open and free to the community.

Having worked as a clinician in senior care for 11 years, Weichey can offer communication tips for friends and loved ones to help victims live a meaningful and purposeful life.

According to the Alzheimer’s Association in 2016, 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s and 50 percent of them are in the moderate stage when they are diagnosed.   

As manager of the adult day services at Concordia at Cabot, she knows the importance of family caregivers as well as the value of providing a safe, enjoyable environment that preserves the dignity and respect of our clients as well as the often –needed outlet for companionship Concordia’s Adult Day Services offers.
