Concordia’s Adult Day Services Manager Presents Information about Alzheimer’s Disease and Tips for Caregivers to Reduce Stress

Jefferson Twp., Pa. – Melissa Weichy, certified dementia practitioner will provide education about Alzheimer’s Disease and tips to reduce stress for the caregiver on Wednesday, March 29 at 6:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Church, 315 Stoney Hollow Road in Cabot.

Having worked as a clinician in senior care for 11 years, Weichy can offer communication tips for caregivers, friends and loved ones to help victims live a meaningful and purposeful life.

According to the Alzheimer’s Association in 2016, 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s and 50 percent of them are in the moderate stage when they are diagnosed.   

Weichey will also address the role of the caregiver and the importance of their health and well-being.  As manager of the adult day services at Concordia at Cabot, she knows the importance of family caregivers as well as the value of providing a safe, enjoyable environment that preserves the dignity and respect of our clients as well as the often –needed outlet for companionship Concordia’s Adult Day Services offers.
