Concordia to Host Civil War Educational Series

Cabot, PA - As a part of the summer semester of the Concordia Institute for Lifelong Learning, Concordia Haven Apartments will host a weekly educational series on the Civil War.

The course will be held every Tuesday at 2 p.m. from July 6 - Aug. 3 in the Haven III third floor card room, 160 Marwood Rd., Cabot. David Straite, a recently retired educator with the Moniteau School District, will teach the series. The cost is $25.

The bulk of the class will focus on the Battle of Gettysburg, considered by most historians to be the pivotal battle of the war. A three dimensional map of the Gettysburg area, including hills, roads, buildings, forest, etc., will be used to help bring this saga in American history to life.

Seating is limited, so those interested are encouraged to reserve their place as soon as possible. To register or receive more information, call the Haven Program Director at 724.352.1571, ext. 8518.
