Concordia to Host "Meet the Instructors" Reception for Lifelong Learning Program

Jefferson Twp., PA - As a kickoff to the upcoming semester of Concordia's "senior college," the community is invited to a "Meet the Instructors" reception on Tuesday, Oct. 15 from 6:30 - 8 p.m. in the Concordia Haven I dining room, 112 Marwood Rd., entrance 2A.

The "senior college" - formally called the Concordia Institute for Lifelong Learning - began four years ago, in cooperation with the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Pittsburgh. This event is an opportunity for current and prospective students to meet the instructors.

All who attend will have the chance to meet Georgia Stewart, who teaches a cooking course; Norma Laughner, an independent living resident and former English professor at Slippery Rock University teaching creative writing; Dr. Harold Schnaible, an accomplished pianist and organist conducting A Survey of Christian Hymnody; and more.

The event is free and open to the community. Refreshments will be served. For more information on the Concordia Institute, call Christina Savannah at 724-352-1571, ext. 8518. For more on Concordia Haven Apartments, visit www.concordiahaven.org.
