All are invited to relive the sounds of the ’50s, ‘60s and ‘70s with The Pittsburgh Doo Wop Big Band, our featured entertainment from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. on stage in the big tent. Under the direction of Richard Mansfield, former conductor of the American Soundtrack Series on PBS, the orchestra includes vocalists Bill Reichert and Laura “Rose” Rozday.
A Fishing Derby for kids 12 and under will highlight children’s activities beginning at 12:30 p.m., and there will be crafts and games to keep the kids busy all day at the gazebo on campus. Kids are also entitled to a free drink and food item in our Quick Tent, like burgers, hot dogs and chicken tenders.
An Open House will be held from 1 – 3 p.m. at Haven I (112 Marwood Rd., Cabot, PA 16023) to tour our retirement living community on the Cabot campus. A car cruise of local models will be also be held from 12:30 – 3 p.m. in the Lund back yard. The 4 p.m. worship service will be led by Concordia Director of Chaplaincy Services Rev. Jack Hartman, who has worked at the organization for nearly 24 years.
Our chef has created a delicious menu featuring popular summer picnic entrees – Rotisserie-style bone-in chicken breast, BBQ pulled pork sandwich, smoked brisket platter, hamburger or hot dog. Dinners are $9 and include two sides, dessert and a beverage. The Quick Tent will offer burgers, hot dogs, chicken tenders and grilled chicken breast sandwiches for $2.50 each.
