CVN Physical Therapist Publishes New Textbook

Cabot, PA - A physical therapist with Concordia Visiting Nurses (CVN) recently published a textbook for PT students, "Fundamentals of Musculoskeletal Imaging, third edition."

Butler resident Lynn McKinnis, PT, OCS has now published two textbooks, with several editions of each one. Her work includes "Fundamentals of Musculoskeletal Imaging," "Fundamentals of Orthopaedic Radiology," educational study courses and a CD-ROM on medical imaging in rehabilitation.

In addition to her employment with CVN, she is an adjunct professor at the University of Montana and St. Francis University in Pennsylvania. Her prior academic affiliations include University of Maryland, Arcadia University, St. Louis University and Slippery Rock University, among others.

Last year, McKinnis was recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) for her literary contributions to the field. She was the recipient of the Helen J. Hislop Award for Outstanding Contributions to Professional Literature.

McKinnis lives in Butler with her husband Dave and teenage children Ann and Jesse, the latter of which actually did many of the illustrations in the textbook. In her spare time, McKinnis enjoys canning fruits and vegetables, gardening and kayaking.
