A reception with light refreshments and live entertainment will begin at 3 p.m. with the dedication ceremony in the new addition outside the new addition in the independent living room area.
The 2100 sq. ft. expansion, begun in mid-August by Martik Bros.allows more space for various activities. According to CEO Brian Hortert, “Architect R. W. Larson designed a state-of-the-art area with seating for 120 and the most modern audio-visual equipment. Our activity schedule will now enable us to invite the public to use our community.”
Retirement living residents were invited to enter a naming contest for the activity center. The winner and the name wil be revealed at next week’s dedication according to Director of Community Life Ina Silver.
Administrator Kay Frndak-Suder says, “This expansion positions Concordia to serve the needs of our current residents as well as those who select us as the provider of choice in the region.”
Concordia Lutheran Ministries, parent company for CSH, acquired the Continuing Care Retirement Community October 26, 2009. In addition to the skilled nursing component licensed for 46 skilled nursing beds, the facility consists of 126 one- and two-bedroom independent living apartments, 48 personal care and 12 memory-support units.
