Good Samaritan Hospice to Host Two Bereavement Camps This Summer

Cabot, PA - For the first time, Good Samaritan Hospice (GSH), a mission of Concordia Lutheran Ministries, is hosting two separate bereavement camps for children and adolescents.

Camp Erin Pittsburgh, a camp for teens ages 13-17 who've experienced the death of someone close to them, will take place June 16-18. This camp is a collaboration between The Moyer Foundation, a nonprofit organization founded by World Series Champion Jamie Moyer and his wife Karen, and GSH.

Camp Good SAM, which is for children ages 6-12 who've experienced the death of a loved one, will take place Aug. 18-20. This camp is specially designed for that age group, with goals aimed to build trust, enhance positive self-esteem and strengthen coping skills.

Both camps are free and will be held at YMCA Camp Kon-O-Kwee Spencer, 30 miles north of Pittsburgh.

For more information, camp applications, sponsorship or volunteer opportunities, call GSH Volunteer Coordinator Anna Olszewski at 1.800.720.2557.
