Groundbreaking at the Concordia at Rebecca Residence Location

West Deer Twp., PA - Concordia at Rebecca Residence has scheduled a Groundbreaking Ceremony on Monday, September 23 at 4 p.m. outside the front entrance.

A 2,400 sq. ft. chapel; will be added to Concordia at Rebecca Residence. According to President and CEO Keith E. Frndak, "This is something that has been on the minds of management and the Board almost from day one. "We are very excited to finally see this through to reality."

"We wanted the Chapel to be in a central location which could be easily accessed by all residents, their families and visitors," said Mike Kaufman, administrator of Rebecca Residence. "The most feasible option was the front of the main building." Concordia at Rebecca Residence is licensed for 60 skilled nursing beds serving about 40 short-term rehab patients per day and 65 personal care beds and serves over 700 people per year.

Martik Bros. have begun construction. The goal is to have the addition completed by early 2014. At a total cost of $800,000, it features a seating capacity of 32 wheelchair spaces and 16 seated spaces.

R. W. Larson Architects specializing in religious design have created a worship space featuring an exterior and interior entrance that will be prominent to all visitors and guests when they arrive. Three large stained-glass windows will adorn the front of the chapel, and because the chapel will be easily visible from the road, the stained-glass windows
will clearly identify Rebecca Residence as a Christian facility.

Concordia Lutheran Ministries, parent company for Rebecca Residence, acquired the location in April of 2004. For more information or to set up a private tour of the location, call 724-444-0600. Visit online at
