Sponsorships, Tables Available for Concordia at Sumner Fashion Show Fundraiser

Copley, OH – Concordia at Sumner announces its First Fall Fashion Show on Saturday, September 24 at Fairlawn Country Club, with all proceeds benefiting a new Therapeutic Healing Garden on the senior community’s campus.

The event will have a Fall theme and begin at 10:30 a.m. with lunch following at 11:30 and the fashion parade at 12:15 p.m. Tickets are $45 and include a hot lunch, valet parking and the fashion show. Tables of eight are also available for $320. Fashions by “Cynthia’s Boutique” inside the Akron Women’s City Club in West Akron will be modeled by Concordia staff, residents and members of the Louise Sumner Board as well as the Boutique employees.

A variety of sponsorships are offered at various levels. Interested groups can also sponsor the event with an advertisement in the program book. Several vendors will be on hand for your shopping pleasure.

Numerous $100 themed baskets will be auctioned as well as a few items presented in a silent auction.

In order to give its residents and patients more access to the many benefits of nature, Concordia at Sumner is developing a specially-designed area: a Therapeutic Healing Garden with restorative outdoor spaces.

The new garden, soon to be installed around Concordia’s Louise Sumner Pavilion, will be a multi-sensory experience for all who choose to explore it. Different varieties of trees and flowers will add gorgeous pops of color and sweet fragrances while birdsongs and two unique water features will create a soothing backdrop of sound, and the entire garden will offer many different textures to interact with. Thoughtful seating configurations and shaded areas throughout the garden will be perfect for patients, residents, families and staff to use in groups for conversation, meditation and visiting. The Therapeutic Healing Garden can also be used by individuals to practice coping skills such as prayer, walking, journaling and breathing exercises.
