Please make event checks payable to Concordia Lutheran Ministries and send to Concordia Lutheran Ministries, attn: Public Relations Office: 148 Marwood Road, Cabot, PA 16023.
All proceeds will be donated to the Good Samaritan Endowment Fund. Concordia Lutheran Ministries cares for residents each year who do not have sufficient resources to pay the full cost of their care. In skilled nursing, the Pennsylvania Medical Assistance Program pays for most, but not all, of the care of residents without funds. In Assisted Living, however, there are no government programs to cover the shortfall between residents' resources and cost of care. Established in the early 1990s, the Good Samaritan Endowment Fund provides Concordia with additional funds to help meet obligations of the organization.
Another connected fundraiser will be held at Haven I retirement apartments prior to the May 15 event. A Basket Auction Preview will be held on Thursday and Friday, May 13 and 14. All are invited to purchase advance tickets for the basket drawing. All are also invited to donate a theme basket.
Fashion Show Committee members include Haven residents Marlene Weissert, chairman; Peggy Stark, hostess; Leona Zitzman, menu; Elizabeth Turner, spiritual advisor; Norene Nelson, mystery bags; Joan Balicki, Edie Waltenbaugh, Dorothy Blankenbuehler, Henrietta Maurhoff, Ruthann Sulitz, Betty Berg, Dorothy Gunther, Flo Parker, Doris Kopac, Lenore Roessing and Verlee Fischer; as well as staff members Rosie Hockenberry, Housekeeping Supervisor in charge of basket tickets; Janet Bennett, Haven II Building Coordinator, table decorations; Anzie Kelley, Executive Director, Good Samaritan Hospice; Roni Lucas, Marketing; Charlene Kline, Vice President, Skilled Nursing and Short-Term Rehab; Mary Senge, Director, Nursing, Jenn McIntire, Director, Development; Beth Wichrowski, Public Relations Assistant and Shirley Freyer, Director, Public Relations.
