Each of our PA facilities has different visitation policies, based on recommendations from various governmental agencies. Please visit the website of each location to view its Reopening Plan, as mandated by the governor’s office. At ALL Concordia locations, the following policies are in effect:

  • Visitors of patients/residents in end-of-life situations are permitted. Please call the facility before coming to the building.
  • Anyone entering a building for any reason, will be screened for temperature, signs and symptoms of COVID-19, recent travel destinations and contact with someone with a confirmed or potential case of COVID-19.
  • All locations are offering alternate methods of visitation. Loved ones are encouraged to contact the Activities Department at the facility to schedule.

Good Samaritan Hospice Volunteer

Do you have the desire and passion to impact someone’s life? Whether you’re doing something as simple as cooking a meal or as complex as writing someone’s life story, Good Samaritan Hospice volunteers make a difference.

Volunteers are always welcome and needed. All volunteers must complete a volunteer application form, per the Hospice Medicare Regulations, and receive training from the Good Samaritan Hospice staff - the amount of training depends upon the area of volunteer interest. Volunteers choose the amount of time they wish to volunteer as well as the geographical areas in which they wish to serve.

College students bring wonderful gifts to patients and families due to their flexibility, education and desire to serve and diversify their skills. Spending time with patients and families strengthens communication skills and adds value in immeasurable ways. Students in nursing, social science, counseling, therapy, EMT, Paramedic, and medical technology programs have found hospice volunteering extremely rewarding both personally and academically.

Because hospice patients have diverse needs, Good Samaritan Hospice welcomes individuals and groups (church, school, community) with varied skills. Our volunteers have been gardeners, hairstylists, artists, musicians, carpenters, quilters, housekeepers, and writers. Every special skill and talent can be used when you are a hospice volunteer.
